Activity: Sturgeon River Sloughs Wildlife Area

Join us at this amazing wildlife reserve to do some early birding!
This site has a variety of wetland and herbaceous cover types. It serves as a prime spot to see the Northern Shrike along with various raptors and waterfowl. In the past we have also seen the early arrival of the Red-winged Blackbirds and Sandhill Cranes.
We will meet in the atrium of the U.J. Noblet Forestry Building and drive to the site from there. It is likely that we will be participating in the 2012 Annual Midwest Crane Count during this event.
